Shortly before your arrival, you will receive a gate code for entry. Our property is fully gated and surrounded by a high fence to ensure the safety of the various exotic antelope and deer that roam freely throughout the grounds. Once you enter and the gate closes, you can drive straight to your cabin or RV site. We strive to meet each of our guests to guide you to your accommodations; however, if we’re unavailable, you will have all the necessary information to locate your site or cabin effortlessly.
As you make your way through the property, you’re likely to spot the wildlife immediately. Among the deer, you may encounter Blackbuck, Whitetail, Axis, and Fallow deer. And let’s not forget the chickens! We have a delightful flock that makes Cowboys and Angels their home, and they roam the grounds freely. If you’re in the mood for farm-fresh eggs, we typically have them available. You can pick them up at our quaint little store on the property, or just send us a text and we’ll be glad to deliver some to you.
As you enter your cabin, the delightful scent of cleanliness and freshness will immediately greet you. You’ll be enchanted by the country charm of our cabins, each adorned with rustic western themes. You’ll likely notice unique touches such as a drain pan for the sinks, antique metal roofing on the shower walls, charming old-fashioned quilts on the beds piled high with pillows, rustic decor lining the walls, cute little kitchenettes, and much more. Typically, we allow you some time to settle in before reaching out with a call or text to ensure you have everything you need and that your stay is comfortable.
If you’re staying at one of our RV sites, we’re delighted to assist you in locating your spot and parking. The first thing you’ll notice is the generous size of the camping areas. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a lovely fire pit for your enjoyment. We also have pull-through sites for those that are just passing through for the night. They are located up front and slightly closer together. If you prefer to be tucked under the trees with a more spacious campsite, we recommend one of our back-in sites located towards the back of the property.
The atmosphere here is incredibly tranquil. The terrain is somewhat rugged, dotted with numerous Live Oak trees. During the summer months, you’ll be grateful for the cool shade they offer. It’s advisable to wear closed-toed shoes since, after all, you are in Texas, where we do have spiders and scorpions.
Explore the scenic trails that wind through our 50 acres of property, which we highly encourage you to explore. While you’re likely to spot plenty of deer along the way, you can also enjoy their company simply by unwinding in one of the many chairs and tables scattered throughout the campground. They have a fondness for corn, so if you wish, feel free to bring some along (please make sure it’s for deer). Just fill a cup and give it a shake; you’ll soon have both deer and chickens flocking to you.
Throughout the campground, you’ll find BBQ grills available for your use, in addition to a hot tub, swimming pool, laundry room, and bathhouse. There’s also a large fire pit located in the central area. We encourage you to join in if you see others gathered—it’s wonderful to see everyone having fun and connecting! Plus, it’s a perfect spot to relax and observe the deer.
At night, it can become very dark here, so be sure to look up and marvel at the brilliance of the stars. We strongly suggest bringing a flashlight. In our cabin areas, the walkways are illuminated, but navigating an RV site can be a bit more challenging due to the absence of street lights.
This is your perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. As we like to say, “leave the city behind and reconnect with your roots.” Embrace the fresh country air, marvel at the wildlife, watch the beautiful sunsets, and simply unwind. It’s a distinctive spot brimming with charm. We wholeheartedly welcome you to Cowboys & Angels and hope you have a delightful stay.
